On the weekend of November 17^th, 18^th & 19th, the Cove at Port Canaveral was booming with activity!

 

It was the third annual Port Weekend, sponsored by the Port Canaveral Association and Propeller Club of Port Canaveral.  The Port Canaveral Association is a non-profit organization that markets the businesses in Port Canaveral & the many port destinations. 

 

Friday night started with a Street Party hosted by the Cove businesses.   The Party included entertainment in front of each establishment, as well as, a “cruise-in” hosted by the Cape Kennedy Corvette Club.  Car enthusiasts came to show off and admire each other’s “rides.”  The Propeller Club kicked off the weekend with a Midway with rides & games, which ran the entire weekend.

 

Saturday the Cove also hosted a variety of street vendors from our local community.  Then the competitive spirit really bloomed that afternoon, with the “Infamous” Bed and Bathtub Race sponsored by RJ Kennedy Construction. There were ten team entries this year and

www.brevardsnightlife.com took first place, closely followed by The Redhead Martini Bar.  Mickies Deli won the special prize for “Most Creative”.

 

Other team entries included:  Fishlips Waterfront Bar & Grill, SunCruz Casinos, Canaveral Port Authority, Best Western/Days Inn of Cocoa Beach, Port Canaveral’s US Coast Guard, Kaye’s Place & Fairvilla Mega Store.
